Aurora

Did you know that “aurora” comes from the roman goddess of dawn, and borealis originates from the greek god of the north wind?

Meaning, we used to be so tied to our surroundings we would worship the direction wind came from, gifting us with the magic of dawn in the dead of night

Did you know these lights shine from 94 millions miles away from a solar eruption, traveling through the solar system at more than 45 million miles an hour, reaching earth in less than a day?

Meaning, you really think you have any concept of time? Of reality? That if that email isn’t sent or that task goes undone you may run out of it? That the hourglass of sand is somehow in your control?

Did you know that it’s the dance between atoms, oxygen, and solar particles that make the sea foam green ripple, the deep purple sway, the coral pink burst, and the moody blue stream?

Meaning, as these chemicals and particles collide in an explosion of color, we do the same down here on this tiny rock. As our arms intertwine and we sway beneath the river of light in the sky, spinning aimlessly on the salty flat ground, giggles turning into squeals that etch this memory into our minds too bright to forget

Did you know if you put someone’s ashes under a microscope, it looks like glitter falling in the black velvet night? It looks like a galaxy streaming across the moonless endless dark sky?

Meaning, we are created from stardust, the stars beckon to us from above and within our bones to remind us of the cosmic reunion we get to return back to someday.
