When I was a kid, I had my grandma make me a cape. I wore that thing constantly, pretending I could fly, pretending to be superman or some other great hero. One day I was swinging on a swingset at the bottom of my grandparents driveway. Wearing my cape I kicked and kicked until i got high enough and I though "Let's see if I can actually fly!" As I learned a gravel and dirt road doesn't make the best landing pad. My feet gave out and I slid on my stomach. As I was sitting there crying and pulling gravel out of my palms my grandpa said something so small, yet so big in my little kid brain.... "You're okay! You just crashed and burned."My tears of pain immediatly turned to tears of laughter. I learned something that day; The fear and pain of falling (or crashing and burning) is nothing compared to the feeling of flying.
